K-12 = Uncreativity

If you haven’t seen this video yet, check out Ken Robinson’s TED talk ‘Do schools kill creativity?‘ It’s an amazing lecture about what I’ve been thinking about for a while. More after the jump…

Welcome back.

Congratulations.
Stroll, stop, explore, learn.
You will not reveal the evidence of rebellious youth, divided, rebuilt, and replaced by mediocrity.
Stories of greatness,
a period now used to entertain copies of masterpieces
It is fantasy dream world poorly built, both light-hearted and humourless.

It is a nighttime mecca, always humourless.
It’s just starting, congratulations.
Watch closely, some consider it a masterpiece.
Stay up all night and you’ll learn,
that every story is an attempt at greatness,
by people who settle for mediocrity.

Congratulations.

They are always smartly dressed, but are designed to be mediocre.
They laugh as one tries to prove the greek science, humourism.
He is not afraid of failure, drunkenness or greatness?
Who knows? All one can say is “Congratulations,
You are willing to try, to learn”
There is only one here ready for a masterpiece.

A dream, a rock, a sound, a sight can all be masterpieces.
You find mediocrity,
and lose creativity through learning.
Laugh, some people find it humourous.
Congratulations.
We killed greatness.

Who knows what we miss without greatness.
What ideas never become masterpieces.
Is this a reason to celebrate or to congratulate
for excelling in mediocrity?
This isn’t humorous; rather, humourless.
We can do more than watch and learn

We can fight and learn
to bring back greatness
We are guilty, who more?
If it is broken, rebuild, display your mastery of the pieces.
You are anything but mediocre.
Congratulations.
